Well-staged drama of abduction of Afghan Ambassador’s daughter ending in fiasco

Daughter of Afghan Ambassador Selsela Alikhil changed four taxis before raising the issue of her abduction and torture.

ISLAMABAD: The well-staged propaganda of abduction and torture of daughter of Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan has almost ended in fiasco as the investigators observed contradictions in the statement of Selsela Alikhil, daughter of the Ambassador.

On Friday, Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil claimed that his daughter Selsela Alikhil was kidnapped and tortured in Islamabad, but she escaped.

However, initial investigations in this case indicated that Selsela Alikhil used three different taxis on Friday. According to sources, first of all she went to Khadda Market in Islamabad, from where she moved to Rawalpindi in another taxi. Then she used third taxi to reach Damn-e-Koh and later on the issue of her abduction and torture surfaced in the social media.

Afghan Ambassador also shared a picture of his daughter Selsela Alikhil on Twitter on Saturday to highlight the issue, claiming his daughter was kidnapped, tortured, but she escaped.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday, Interior Minister asserted that kidnapping of daughter of Afghan Ambassador was a RAW-sponsored plan meant to defame Pakistan at international level. He also said that the CCTV footages show her travel from Khadda market to Rawalpindi. He, nonetheless, said the footage of her visit to Manal, Damn-e-Koh is being traced.

Sources said that from the fake letters to the falsified pictures and strange route taken by the Envoy’s daughter, changing one taxi after the other in a span of four hours, going from her residence to Khadda Market to Daman-e-Koh to Rawalpindi and back to Islamabad has created doubts about her abduction and torture. She changed four taxis before raising the issue of her abduction and torture.

Meanwhile, in the initial report she claimed using 2 taxis, losing her phone, while the phone was tracked through Geo Fencing and it was in her possession. Interestingly, before handing over her smartphone to investigators, Selsela Alikhil deleted all data and SMSs of her cellphone which further strengthened investigators doubts of the fake abduction case, said sources.

Importantly, Afghan government has called back its Ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil on Sunday. Sources, however, said that as the drama of fake kidnapping and torture of Selsela Alikhil was unfolding, Pakistani government was considering to expel Afghan Ambassador by declaring him persona non grata. However, sensing this development, Afghan government immediately called back its Ambassador.

Notably, Pakistan government is not propagating this case while Indians and Afghan government are raising hue and cry over this well-staged drama in Islamabad with the aim to defame Pakistan to achieve their ulterior motives.
