US envoy lauds Pak’s effort in Afghan peace process

US Charge d’Affaires to Pakistan Angela Aggeler on Thursday appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to conflict prevention in the region and the relentless support provided in the Afghan peace process.

The director-general of Inter-Services Public Relations, Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar, posted a Tweet that said the US made the aforementioned comments during a meeting with Chief of the Armed Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including regional security situation, particularly the Afghan peace process, were discussed.

The dignitary assured the army chief of the United States’ continued assi­s­tance for the common cause of peace in Afghanistan, he added.
