US announces an additional $10 million grant for Pakistan’s Flood Security Programme

As per Pakistan’s Foreign Minister (FM), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the United States should support Pakistan’s efforts to promote climate justice.

In a joint press conference with his US counterpart Antony Blinken following their meeting in Washington, he stated that Pakistan is currently experiencing a huge natural disaster and devastation that has affected millions of people all throughout the country.

Pakistan is one of the ten countries most adversely affected by climate change, according to FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He said that hundreds of green revolution initiatives might be launched with US participation.

According to Bilawal, Pakistan’s share of global emissions of greenhouse gases is less than 0.8%.

Speaking at the event, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced an additional $10 million grant for Pakistan under the heading of food security.

He said that the US had already provided 55 million dollars to help flood victims in Pakistan.

He stated that America is aiding the flood victims and will do so throughout their difficult times.

At an earlier meeting at the State Department, delegations took stock of the increased bilateral engagement in trade, energy, food, and health as well as in areas of shared interest.

Following the devastating climatic catastrophe in Pakistan, the foreign minister thanked the US government for its continuous support.

According to Antony Blinken, who spoke at the event, the goal of the gathering was to reaffirm our tight relationship for regional peace, economic growth, and food security. Additionally, he stressed the need for ongoing assistance for flood recovery, including almost $56.5 million in funding.
