The LHC instructs session judges to prevent from using social media

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mohammad Ameer Bhatti prevent the use of social media for the Punjab judiciary.

The LHC registrar’s instructions, which were announced on July 8, are addressed to all district and sessions judges in Punjab, as well as judicial officers on ex-cadre. The instructions come days after Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti took oath as the 51st LHC chief justice.

According to a statement “A judicial officer is supposed to lead a reserved social life, therefore, he should avoid using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and such other social media applications,”

Keeping and displaying a blue light on an official or private car of any judicial officer, or placing green plates on private vehicles, shall likewise be considered misbehavior and will be treated harshly.

The court warned that if a judicial officer is found to be breaking the rules, they will face severe legal measures, and their misbehavior will be recorded in their personal file, which will be examined when they are promoted.
