New Public School

SHAHRINAV: The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer, Sultan Al-Marshad, officially inaugurated Shahrinav School in Tajikistan today, alongside Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Abdullzoda Ziyodullo.

Moreover, the school’s construction is part of Tajikistan’s “Constructing and Equipping of Secondary Schools” project’s fourth phase, which received a $35 million USD contribution from SFD and will benefit 25,000 students in the country.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of key officials, including the Representative of the Government of Tajikistan, Akramzoda Mahmadyusuf, Saudi Ambassador to Tajikistan, Waleed Alreshiadan, Shahrinav district Chairman, Valizoda Abduqodir, and PIU Director, Vohidzoda Umeda, among others.

In addition, the newly inaugurated school, featuring 36 classrooms and accommodating 620 students, is part of the fourth phase of the project, which includes the construction of 34 new schools.

Also, it aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Abdullzoda Ziyodullo, expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and SFD for their support in the education sector by building new public school, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in Tajikistan’s development and socio-economic growth.

Meanwhile, SFD CEO, Sultan Al-Marshad, stressed SFD’s commitment to education and its role in empowering students, enhancing their skills, and providing them with opportunities. This school’s inauguration is part of a broader educational project aimed at improving Tajikistan’s educational landscape.

The inauguration of Shahrinav School builds upon SFD’s ongoing support for Tajikistan’s education sector, spanning four development projects to construct and equip 57 secondary schools across four phases, with a total funding of $75 million USD. SFD has financed 12 development projects in Tajikistan, totaling over $193 million USD, in various key sectors.
