PTI activists Protests against PM Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to London

PTI protesters protested outside the Avenfield apartments against Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to London, where he met PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and attended significant party gatherings.

The protest was organised because PM Shehbaz’s visit to London cost the national exchequer money and was funded by “taxpayers’ money.”

In New York, the prime minister personally paid his expenses, and in London, he lived in the apartment he owned when living in exile from 2006–2007, according to official certification from the PM’s Office.

Placards and banners criticizing the leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) were carried by the protesters.

The elected PTI London team, which was comprised of Waqas Sagar, President Taqveem Siddiqui, Senior Vice President Nabeel Qureshi, General Secretary Sidra Hijazi Ali, Information Secretary Saram Choudhry, Additional General Secretary Nasreen Memon, Women Secretary PTI, and Maheen Zahid, Women Secretary London, organised the protest.

Imran Khalil, national president of PTI UK, joined others in attending the protest from areas outside of London.

Following the success of the “US Regime Change Plan,” which was designed to remove former prime minister Imran Khan from office, the protestors claimed they believed the current administration was an “imported regime” placed on Pakistan.

Until a real government is chosen, they declared, their push for new elections would continue.

The protesters also stated that although Imran was removed from power under the pretext that he had mishandled Pakistan’s economy, things have really gotten worse over the past six months.

The venue of the Sunday protest was Prime Minister Shehbaz’s Edgware Road apartment, where Nawaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, and Shehbaz met.

A half-hour prior to the protest’s beginning, Nawaz had already left the apartments.
