Pro-Palestinian protesters confronted US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller on Saturday as he exited his vehicle in front of his residence in Washington. The protesters chanted, “Hey Miller, what do you say? How many kids did you kill today?” as Miller waved to them while heading to his home.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 36,439 people have been killed and 82,627 wounded in Gaza during over seven months of fighting between Israel and Hamas. The ministry noted that 60 deaths had occurred in the past 24 hours.
On Sunday, an aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel had accepted a framework deal proposed by US President Joe Biden to wind down the Gaza conflict, despite describing it as flawed and requiring significant improvements. Ophir Falk, Netanyahu’s chief foreign policy advisor, stated in an interview with Britain’s Sunday Times, “It’s not a good deal, but we dearly want all the hostages released.”
