ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch clarified that Pakistan has no plans to negotiate with terrorist groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). She urged the Afghan government to act against banned groups.
Meanwhile, the FO spokesperson voiced strong concerns over the recent attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa’s vehicle in London, confirming that legal proceedings will be pursued against those responsible.
Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, addressing the media, reiterated the government’s firm stance against targeted violence, particularly toward Pakistani High Commission representatives.
The incident occurred shortly after Qazi Faiz Isa was honored at Middle Temple, a prestigious legal institution in the UK, where he was elected as a bencher. Following the ceremony, a group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters staged a protest outside, leading to the attack on Isa’s vehicle as he departed.
Baloch noted that the Interior Minister had already made a detailed statement on the incident, affirming the government’s commitment to seeking justice for Qazi Faiz Isa and protecting the High Commission’s interests.
The spokesperson also covered several international issues, including Pakistan’s interest in joining BRICS, its calls for peace in Palestine and Lebanon, and its appeal to the global community to hold Israel accountable for alleged war crimes.
Baloch reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for resolving the Kashmir issue based on the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
She also announced Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming two-day visit to Doha, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, following his participation in an investment summit in Riyadh, where he held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
She further reassured that Pakistan remains committed to the safety of Chinese nationals and businesses, following recent incidents involving them in Pakistan.
