According to Markian Chuchuk, the Ukraine ambassador to Pakistan, any country’s status of neutrality in the Ukraine-Russian conflict was unacceptable.
In an interview with Shaukat Piracha on Aaj News talk show Rubaroo, the ambassador remarked, “We feel that is like inciting Russia against Ukraine.”
According to him, his country expect Pakistan to join the countries opposing Russia’s incursion, and Ukraine would not allow any country’s posture of neutrality.
In the midst of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the Russia earlier this year and met with President Vladimir Putin.
According to Pakistani authorities, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Moscow trip had nothing to do with the situation between Russia and Ukraine.
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to rebuke Putin and publicly lambasted Western diplomats in Islamabad for pressuring his administration to oppose Moscow’s aggression against Kiev.
It was only a few months ago that COAS Bajwa called for an urgent end to the conflict, which he called a “great tragedy.”
An immediate suspension of hostilities has been demanded by Pakistan. “We advocate rapid engagement to find a solution to the problem,” he remarked while addressing the Islamabad Security Dialogue in 2022.
Additionally, the representative of Ukraine praised Pakistan for providing two shipments of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Ukrainian resistance prevented Russia from overtaking Ukraine in a matter of days, Chuchuk added.
According to him, the world community has accused Russia of war crimes and even genocide. Pakistan’s political posture toward war may shift as a result of this, he said.
