Navjot Kaur, the wife of former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, has been served with a legal notice worth 850 crore Indian rupees over her controversial claims regarding curing cancer through dietary changes.
The Chhattisgarh Civil Society issued the legal notice, demanding that Kaur provide evidence to support her claims within seven days, or face the possibility of being held financially liable for what the organization has called “misleading” statements.
The notice emphasizes that Sidhu’s claims could create negative perceptions about allopathic treatments, potentially leading cancer patients to abandon their prescribed medications, thus endangering their lives. It further condemns the spread of “misinformation” and calls on Kaur to clarify her stance on the statements made by her husband.
On November 23, Sidhu made a startling claim during a TV appearance, stating that he had cured his wife’s stage-four cancer solely through dietary changes, improved nutrition, and traditional methods. He also revealed that he used the same approach to treat his own fatty liver disease. According to Sidhu, his wife became cancer-free within just 40 days by following a strict diet, and he himself felt rejuvenated by adopting the same regimen.
Sidhu explained that his wife had been diagnosed with stage-four cancer, with doctors giving her only a five percent chance of survival. He further shared that an oncologist friend in the United States had given her only a three percent chance of survival. After this diagnosis, Sidhu took it upon himself to research alternative treatments and recommended dietary changes, including the use of coconut, olive, or almond oil instead of refined oils for his wife’s meals.
