ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that the ambassador’s daughter was not abducted and it was a RAW-sponsored conspiracy to defame Pakistan.
Speaking in Geo TV programme “Naya Pakistan” tonight, Interior Minister said Afghan Ambassador’s daughter Selsela Alikhil went to Rawalpindi on her own will and its CCTV footage was available. He asserted that this is a conspiracy planned by the Indian spy agency, RAW.
Interior Minister also said that Selsela Alikhil gave her mobile phone to investigating team after erasing all record.
Meanwhile, in his earlier press conference in Islamabad today, Interior Minister said that India had been misguiding the international media on the incident, as it doesn’t spare any chance of defaming Pakistan.
Shaikh Rashid further said that the government was investigating the abduction of the ambassador’s daughter and will resolve the matter in a day or two.
He pointed out that Afghan Ambassador’s daughter walked to the market and took a taxi for Khadda market from where she took another taxi to Rawalpindi.
She was then reported to have reached Daman-e-Koh, he said, adding “the only footage we don’t have is of her travel from Rawalpindi to Daman-e-Koh and we are trying to find the missing link.”
Meanwhile, Afghan government has called back its Ambassador from Pakistan citing security reasons today.
