I will protest if someone forces me to remove my scarf: Malala Yousafzai

Iranian protests began over the death of Mahsa Amini, 22, who was killed after being arrested by the “morality police” for allegedly violating the hijab law. Mahsa was 22 years old. She never returned alive. Celebrities from over the world have reacted angrily to the terrible incident. One of the first people to respond on Instagram was supermodel Bella Hadid. American artist Halsey and Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai did the same.

When Amini was in the hospital, Bella posted a photo of her and captioned it, “Just wow. Rest in peace, Mahsa Amini. You did not deserve this. Sending blessings to her family and loved ones.”

She shared many pictures that were uploaded by Amanda de Cadenet, a photographer, who captioned them, “This is a tragic and horrifying story of a woman who was supposedly assaulted and died for wearing her hijab ‘incorrectly. Mahsa Amini was abducted by the “morality police” to receive hijab education, but she never came back.

Malala said on Instagram,  “Whatever a woman chooses to wear, she has the right to decide for herself. As I have said before: If someone forces me to cover my head, I will protest. If someone forces me to remove my scarf, I will protest.” She added, “I am calling for justice for Mahsa Amini.”
