The longest-reigning British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 at the age of 96 at her Balmoral estate.
After her peaceful passing on her Scottish estate, her eldest son Charles took her place as monarch.
With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future children will become Prince and Princess, per royal custom.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, has been elevated to the position of a prince.
While his younger sister, Lilibet “Lili” Mountbatten-Windsor, is also a legitimate princess.
While Archie was denied the title of Prince, the Duchess of Sussex had previously claimed that it was because of his race.
Last year, Meghan told US talk show host Oprah Winfrey that she was stunned to find that Archie would not have police protection because he did not have a title and that the decision was made because of his mixed race.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in an interview that they had assumed their son Archie would be given the title of prince upon Charles’ accession to the throne.
However, they were informed that protocol would be changed in accordance with Charles’s desire for a more streamlined monarchy, and that Archie would be prevented from receiving such titles.
