The Islamabad Safe City has released its annual performance report for 2025, outlining how advanced technology significantly strengthened surveillance, public safety, and emergency response across the capital. The report presents a detailed overview of operational achievements that shaped urban security during the year.
According to the data, Islamabad Safe City conducted 97,506 surveillance operations of varying categories in 2025. These operations supported crime prevention, monitoring of sensitive locations, and real-time response coordination. During the year, nearly 200 local and foreign delegations visited the facility, reflecting growing interest in its technology-driven security model.
The report confirmed the addition of 696 artificial intelligence-based facial recognition systems and advanced automatic number plate recognition cameras. These upgrades expanded the city’s monitoring capacity and improved accuracy in identifying suspects and tracking vehicles linked to criminal activity.
Several new systems were introduced during the year, including the Hunch Lab and Golden Hour platforms. These tools ensured timely responses in 326 critical cases. With the support of Hunch Lab, authorities identified 101 dangerous groups, while 82 suspects were arrested through targeted intelligence-based operations.
Under the Hotel Eye system, biometric and identification data of 1,145,000 individuals was recorded. Through digital verification, more than 300 proclaimed offenders were traced and brought under the law. Meanwhile, the digital control room provided real-time guidance and assistance to nearly 745,000 citizens throughout the year.
The complaint management system handled 78,000 complaints, all of which were addressed on merit. Additionally, the Online Women Police Station helpline received 90,000 calls. Authorities confirmed that prompt action followed each verified request, reinforcing trust in digital policing channels.
To improve operational standards, the first Quality Assurance Desk was established within Islamabad Safe City. The e-challan system also remained active, resulting in the issuance of 11,372 digital traffic challans during 2025.
New digital services expanded public engagement. An online taxi verification application and the One Info app were launched to enhance citizen participation. Through the taxi verification system, over 35,000 passengers, drivers, and vehicles were registered. The One Info platform enabled citizens to share information across 1,206 different reporting categories.
To strengthen coordination with the Chinese community, a dedicated WeChat service was introduced. The service received a positive response and improved communication for assistance and reporting needs.
The annual report reflects Islamabad Safe City’s growing reliance on data-driven policing, artificial intelligence, and citizen-centric digital platforms. Officials believe these measures have played a critical role in improving safety outcomes and operational efficiency across the capital.
