All political parties should have the freedom to contest polls
ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has issued a directive to state-run media, instructing them to provide fair coverage to all political parties registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He stated that state-owned media should not support or oppose any political party.

Solangi added that the interim government bears the responsibility of creating a favorable environment for free and fair elections, allowing all political parties to participate freely.
The information minister pointed out that the Constitution of Pakistan clearly states that elected representatives should run the country’s system. Solangi emphasized that the interim government’s duty is to resolve issues rather than making excuses and pledged to address the concerns of Radio Pakistan and its employees.
Discussing Radio Pakistan, he expressed his aspiration to modernize the organization and mentioned ongoing efforts to enhance it.
He added that Radio Pakistan’s transmission should become digital, and they are taking steps to enhance Radio Pakistan and PTV.
