ISLAMABAD: The sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan have denied personally taking any proposal to him concerning a possible transfer from Adiala Jail to Britain, 24NewsHD reported on Wednesday, citing sources.
According to the report, Khan’s sisters maintained that proposals presented to the former prime minister so far had been rejected. However, they insisted they had not acted as intermediaries or personally conveyed any such offer to him in prison.
The reported proposals and their terms have not been officially confirmed by the government or other relevant authorities.
Sources Claim Efforts Were Made to Arrange UK Transfer
According to sources cited in the report, efforts had allegedly been made by Khan’s former wife, Jemima Goldsmith, and his sons to explore an arrangement for his transfer to Britain through the UK government.
The report claimed that one proposal envisaged allowing the incarcerated PTI founder to relocate to the United Kingdom under certain conditions.
Furthermore, one reported condition would have required Khan to refrain from political activities and public statements after moving to Britain.
Sisters Say Imran Khan Rejected Proposals Presented to Him
Meanwhile, Khan’s sisters reiterated that they had not approached their brother with any deal concerning his possible departure for Britain.
They maintained that proposals that had reached the former prime minister through other channels had failed to secure his approval.
Consequently, according to their account, Khan rejected the arrangements presented to him and remained unwilling to accept the reported conditions.
Neither the precise origin of the alleged proposals nor details about who formally communicated them to Khan were disclosed in the report.
