Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Umair Khan Niazi revealed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s bail hearings related to the May 9 cases are set for November 30.
Currently in judicial remand, Khan’s release depends on the outcomes of these bail applications, Niazi explained during an interview on Aaj News’ program Spotlight.
Addressing calls for protests, Niazi urged for confirmation of a statement attributed to Barrister Gohar.
Political analyst and columnist Sohail Warraich, also part of the discussion, shared his insights on the prevailing political and economic landscape. He acknowledged some progress in economic stability but emphasized the persistent lack of political stability, which he believes is essential for sustained economic progress.
Warraich suggested that the establishment is eager for PTI to engage in negotiations on free and fair elections within the current system. He opined that Imran Khan might receive concessions, such as an inquiry into alleged electoral irregularities or his release from detention, if he agrees to cooperate and maintain silence.
However, Warraich highlighted Khan’s predicament: cooperating with the establishment could harm his public support, while resisting compromise may extend his legal struggles.
