ISLAMABAD: PTI founder Imran Khan has returned to Adiala Jail after undergoing a medical check-up at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.
Doctors examined the former prime minister and determined that he could safely remain in custody, according to Geo News.
Khan arrived at the hospital from Adiala Jail under heightened security, with police escorting him to the medical facility.
A six-member team of specialist doctors conducted his examination after his arrival.
Following the check-up, doctors concluded that Khan did not require hospital admission and could return to prison.
Consequently, jail authorities shifted the PTI founder back to his cell at Adiala Jail.
Earlier, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi visited Shifa International Hospital with senior police officers.
The police chief reviewed security arrangements ahead of Khanโs arrival at the facility.
Meanwhile, authorities deployed a heavy police contingent outside the hospital to maintain security during the former premierโs medical examination.
Hospital sources said officials had also completed special arrangements for Khanโs examination and potential admission.
However, doctors ultimately cleared him to remain in custody.
The development follows growing concerns about Khanโs health during his imprisonment and continued demands for proper medical care.
