Imran Khan, the incarcerated founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has instructed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to continue discussions for the province’s rights at various federal forums, including the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). This direction was given during a meeting between CM Gandapur and Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
The meeting covered discussions on upcoming SIFC meetings, Senate elections, law and order in the province, and other pertinent matters.
CM Gandapur also briefed Imran Khan on his recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting it as a significant political development aimed at reducing political tensions in the country. Following the meeting with PM Shehbaz, Gandapur described the interaction as positive and emphasized the importance of engaging in political dialogue with the incarcerated PTI founder.
Moreover, CM Gandapur informed Imran Khan about the assurance from PM Shehbaz regarding permission to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, despite heightened security measures due to threat alerts. Imran Khan instructed Gandapur to continue collaborating with security agencies on matters pertaining to security in the province.
The meeting also addressed the restoration of the Sehat Card (health card) and Ramadan package in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Imran Khan approved PTI’s candidates for the upcoming Senate elections from the province. The Election Commission of Pakistan is scheduled to conduct the Senate elections next month to fill the vacant seats.
