ISLAMABADL Anti-Terrorism Court today granted interim bail to PTI Chairman Imran Khan till Sept 1 in anti-terrorism case filed against him for threatening district and sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry.
Imran Khan reached the anti-terrorism court around 11:45 am on Wednesday and his lawyer sought bail from the court.
The court granted interim bail to Imran Khan and issued notices to complainants and lawyers for hearing of the case on Sept 1, 2022.
Earlier, about 400 security officials were deployed outside the Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad ahead of the appearance of PTI chairman in court to get further bail before arrest in anti-terrorism case.
Security of the areas surrounding the Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad has been tightened today to avoid any mishap.
On Wednesday, the PTI leaders announced that party’s chairman Imran Khan will appear in anti-terrorism court on Thursday to get further bail. Imran Khan was given three-days transit bail till August 25 in a terrorism case registered against him for threatening additional district and sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry.
Earlier this week, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court had granted Mr Khan protective bail till August 25.

PTI lawyer Babar Awan said Imran Khan would personally appear in anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday to obtain bail.
Last week, a first investigation report (FIR) was registered against the PTI chairman at the Margalla police station under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act for his threatening remarks the woman judge and capital police at the party’s Islamabad rally on Aug 20.

In a video message shared on PTI’s Twitter on Wednesday, Mr Awan said Imran Khan had chaired a meeting of the party’s legal committee earlier in the day and it was decided that an application seeking the ex-prime minister’s bail would be filed in the ATC Islamabad.
