ISLAMABAD: The special court, established under the Official Secrets Act for the cipher case, has summoned PTI Chief Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi to appear in court on October 4.

Following the Federal Investigation Agency’s declaration of the former prime minister and ex-foreign minister as the principal accused in the cipher case, the court ordered the presentation of both PTI leaders in the court.
On September 30, the agency submitted a charge sheet to the special court established under the Official Secrets Act.
The FIA excluded former planning minister Asad Umar from its list of accused individuals. Instead, sources revealed that they had attached the statement of former principal secretary Azam Khan to the charge sheet as a witness.
The charge sheet alleged that Imran Khan violated the Official Secrets Act by retaining the cipher. It also stated that a copy of the cypher reached Imran Khan but was never returned.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court reserved its decision on an application submitted by the FIA for an in-camera hearing of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s bail plea in the cipher case. It’s worth noting that the court had also scheduled Khan’s bail application for the same day.
One day prior, the FIA submitted a miscellaneous application to conduct an in-camera hearing on the bail application of the PTI chief.
