ISLAMABAD: Imran Haleem Shaikh has been appointed as the new President and CEO of the BankIslami. He will assume his new role from Tuesday, September 29, 2026. BankIslami revealed this development in a circular issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
It is a regulatory requirement to update the PSX about this appointment. Imran Haleem Shaikh has been serving as BankIslami’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer since January 2024.
He brings extensive banking experience to his new role, having spent more than 13 years with JS Bank before joining BankIslami. During his tenure at JS Bank, Shaikh served as Chief Operating Officer from July 2020 until December 2023. In that position, he supervised several key areas of the bank’s operations, including retail banking, cross-selling, consumer banking, product development, marketing and administration.
His appointment comes as BankIslami continues to strengthen its leadership and expand its operations within Pakistan’s Islamic banking sector. The notification issued to the exchange formally communicated the leadership transition and confirmed the effective date of Shaikh’s appointment.
With his previous experience in senior management and banking operations, Shaikh will now take responsibility for leading BankIslami as its President and CEO. The development was disclosed in accordance with the bank’s regulatory reporting requirements and was circulated through the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
