ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled a hearing for the bail plea of the former prime minister and PTI chairman in the cipher case.
Authorities apprehended PTI Chairman Imran Khan on August 5 after his conviction in the Toshakhana case. The registrar’s office has released the cause list for the upcoming week.

IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq will preside over the hearing for the PTI Chairman’s bail application, scheduled for Monday.
On September 12, the Islamabad High Court concluded its deliberations on a petition filed by the PTI chairman, challenging the law ministry’s decision to conduct the trial in the cipher case at Attock jail.
Cipher case
It’s worth noting that PTI Chief Imran Khan and Vice Chairman were accused of intentionally misplacing a diplomatic cypher.
A complaint by the Home Secretary led to the filing of the First Information Report (FIR) under the Official Secrets Act on August 15.
The case commenced after Azam Khan, the former principal secretary to the PTI chairman and former prime minister, made revelations.
He claimed that the former PM had employed a US cypher for his political advantage and to prevent a vote of no confidence.
Azam Khan, who had been absent for several months, reemerged and disclosed information about the US cypher while giving a statement under CrPC 164 before a magistrate.
