The IHC Chief Justice, Aamer Farooq, presided over the case, with Khan’s counsel, Sher Afzal Marwat, presenting his arguments before the court on Wednesday.
During the hearing, Marwat contended that there existed no valid grounds to detain the PTI Chairman in Attock jail.
He urged the court allow home-cooked meals for Imran Khan and visitation rights.
The Chief Justice remarked, “I take note of this matter,” indicating a consideration of the request.
Furthermore, the court directed the federal and Punjab governments to submit their responses by Friday.
The lawyer further urged the court to expedite hearing, but the IHC chief justice adjourned the hearing until August 11.
A crucial aspect of the proceedings centers on the court’s intention to facilitate a meeting between Chairman PTI Imran Khan and the concerned parties.
This move signifies a potential step toward addressing the legal concerns and requests put forth in the plea.
