ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court today ordered the shifting of PTI chairman from Attock Prison to Adiala Jail.
The IHC chief justice issued the order while hearing a petition from Imran Khan for his transfer to Adiala Jail from Attock Prison. The IHC Chief Justice said that all the under trial prisoners of Islamabad are in Adiala Jail. Hence, Khan should also be moved there.
On Monday, the IHC took up for hearing the cipher case on the petition of former premier Imran Khan. Ministry of Interior will be responsible for making arrangements to transfer Khan to Adiala Jail.

However, the Attock Jail authorities did not present Imran Khan in the court citing security reasons.
Earlier, Attock Jail officials refused to present PTI chairman Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court today. Attock Jail officials informed the court that they cannot produce Khan in the court because of the security concerns.
Earlier, Civil Judge Qudratullah issued orders mandating the former prime minister’s presence in court on Monday in relation to a case concerning his nikkah with Bushra Begum.
Nonetheless, the superintendent of Attock Jail expressed apprehensions that potential security risks could arise during Khan’s journey to Islamabad.
Furthermore, the superintendent mentioned that even hearings for the cipher case, which is registered under the Official Secrets Act, have been conducted within the jail compound due to security concerns, instead of transporting Khan to Islamabad.
Imran Khan had been apprehended on August 5 after an Islamabad court found him guilty of engaging in corrupt practices. During his time in jail, he also faced charges in the cipher case.

Meanwhile, The Islamabad High Court has scheduled the hearing of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s bail application in the cipher case for Monday. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq will hear Imran Khan’s bail application, and the court has also issued a notice to the FIA for arguments.
The Special Court, formed under the Official Secrets Act, had previously rejected Imran Khan’s bail application.
