Omoda & Jaecoo Pakistan has officially confirmed the launch of another vehicle for the local market, further strengthening its growing lineup in the country. The announcement was made through the companyโs verified Facebook page, where it revealed that the upcoming model will be the JAECOO J5 HEV.
In its brief teaser post, the company highlighted several key features of the new hybrid crossover, signaling its focus on technology, safety, and comfort. Among the standout features mentioned were advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), adaptive cruise control, a panoramic moonroof, and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) technology.
While the confirmation has generated excitement, Omoda & Jaecoo did not disclose pricing details or an official launch timeline. However, the announcement alone indicates that the brand is accelerating its expansion strategy in Pakistan.
Omoda & Jaecoo made its local debut in August with the launch of two fully electric SUVs. This was followed by the introduction of a locally assembled plug-in hybrid SUV in October, marking an important step toward localization and affordability. The addition of the JAECOO J5 HEV suggests that the company is now targeting the rapidly growing compact hybrid SUV segment.
Based on international specifications, the JAECOO J5 HEV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a hybrid powertrain. This setup is designed to offer a balance between fuel efficiency and performance, making it well-suited for urban commuting as well as longer highway drives. With fuel prices remaining a key concern for Pakistani buyers, hybrid vehicles continue to gain popularity across multiple price brackets.
In terms of safety, the global version of the J5 HEV comes well-equipped. It offers six airbags as standard, along with essential safety technologies such as anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), and electronic stability control (ESP). The crossover also features a 540-degree camera system, which combines surround-view and underbody visibility, as well as a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to enhance driver awareness.
On the convenience and comfort front, the JAECOO J5 HEV is expected to deliver a premium experience. Internationally available features include leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power tailgate. A panoramic moonroof adds to the cabinโs airy feel, while the large 13.2-inch infotainment display supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, catering to modern connectivity needs.
Although it remains to be seen which of these features will make it to the Pakistan-spec model, the companyโs emphasis on ADAS and premium equipment suggests that the J5 HEV will be positioned as a feature-rich offering in its segment.
With this confirmation, Omoda & Jaecoo continues to build momentum in Pakistanโs evolving automotive market, particularly in the new-energy vehicle space. More details regarding specifications, pricing, and availability are expected closer to the official launch.
