Huawei has launched the Mate 90 Pro Max in China, introducing a flagship smartphone focused heavily on photography and performance.
The new device features a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display, a 6,800mAh battery and advanced camera hardware. Selected variants are powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9050 Pro chipset.
High-End Display and Design
The Mate 90 Pro Max has a 2848 × 1320-pixel OLED display with an adaptive 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate. It supports high-frequency PWM dimming and up to 12,000 nits of local peak brightness.
The screen is protected by Kunlun Glass, while the Collector’s Edition uses Basalt Kunlun Glass. The phone is available in four colors and carries IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The device runs HarmonyOS 7. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, StarLight E2.0 and eSIM support.
200MP Camera Takes Center Stage
The rear camera system includes a 50MP RYYB main camera with optical image stabilization and a variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture.
It is joined by a 40MP ultrawide camera and a 200MP RYYB periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto lens supports 4x optical zoom, 8x optical-quality zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
The Collector’s Edition can also use the optional Ruiying Z10 camera module. It adds a 1-inch RYYB sensor and 10x continuous optical zoom.
Large Battery and Pricing
The smartphone packs a 6,800mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Pricing starts at approximately $1,417 for the 12GB/512GB model. Higher-end Collector’s Edition models can reach around $1,940.
