RAWALPINDI: Holy Family Hospital has started operations at a dedicated acid burn treatment centre. The facility will provide free and immediate medical care to acid attack victims.

The Holy Family Hospital centre has 35 beds and offers treatment without charges. Officials said the facility has all the necessary arrangements to treat patients with acid burns.
When a victim arrives at the hospital, medical staff first provide emergency care. Doctors then move the patient to the dedicated centre for further treatment.
Medical teams immediately work to control the patient’s pain. They then begin treatment according to the severity and nature of the injuries.

Medical Superintendent Holy Family Hospital Dr Ijaz Butt said Punjab has established acid burn centres in eight cities for the first time.
The Punjab Social Protection Department oversees the facilities. According to Dr Butt, each centre provides immediate treatment to people affected by acid attacks.
The facilities also support women, children and men who suffer acid-related injuries. Medical teams focus on treating painful burns and helping victims recover from their injuries.
The initiative comes under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s programme to improve medical support for acid attack victims.
