LAHORE: The Punjab government’s Agro-Internship Program has recorded a major milestone, with 50 percent of participating graduates securing employment, according to an announcement shared on the official WhatsApp group of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The provincial government said the encouraging results have prompted authorities to broaden the scope of the Agro-Internship Program. As a result, more young graduates are expected to benefit from practical training and employment opportunities in the agriculture sector.
Program Helps Graduates Build Careers
The Agro-Internship Program aims to equip young people with practical skills and expertise in agribusiness. Moreover, it provides participants with hands-on experience that improves their chances of finding employment or launching their own business ventures.
Officials said the initiative focuses on developing a skilled workforce capable of contributing to the province’s agricultural economy. Consequently, graduates gain industry knowledge while strengthening their professional capabilities through real-world training.
Government Plans Wider Expansion
Following the reported success of the program, the Punjab government has decided to expand its reach to accommodate more graduates. The move reflects the government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities and supporting youth development through agriculture-based initiatives.
Furthermore, officials believe the expanded program will encourage entrepreneurship by enabling participants to establish their own agribusinesses. They also expect the initiative to strengthen the agricultural sector by producing trained professionals equipped with modern farming and business skills.
The government maintained that the Agro-Internship Program will continue to empower young graduates through skill development, practical experience, and improved employment prospects.
