Several Pakistan cricketers have improved their positions in the latest ICC ODI rankings, despite the national team not playing any One-Day Internationals during the past month. The changes came after the conclusion of the recent ODI series between New Zealand and the West Indies, which reshaped the global rankings.
The updated standings brought encouraging news for Pakistan, with leading batters and bowlers climbing the rankings through changes in the overall points table.
Babar Azam Climbs in ODI Batting Rankings
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam moved up one place in the ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings. He now occupies sixth position with 689 rating points.
Meanwhile, Salman Ali Agha also registered an impressive improvement. He climbed two places from 18th to 16th, reaching 630 rating points after the latest rankings update.
However, other Pakistani batters witnessed mixed results.
Former captain and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan retained 31st place with 560 points. Left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman slipped one position from 36th to 37th, where he now has 544 rating points. At the same time, Saim Ayub remained unchanged in 44th position.
Top ODI Batters Maintain Their Positions
The top of the ICC ODI batting rankings remained largely unchanged.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continued to lead the rankings with 802 rating points. India captain Shubman Gill stayed second with 801 points, while Virat Kohli retained third place.

Pakistan Bowlers Also Register Gains
Pakistan’s bowling unit also enjoyed positive movement in the latest ICC ODI rankings.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi climbed two places from ninth to seventh, reaching 604 rating points.
Similarly, Haris Rauf improved two positions and now sits 20th with 556 points.
On the other hand, Naseem Shah dropped two places and now ranks 49th with 477 points.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Wasim Jr moved up one position from 71st to 70th, collecting 432 points. Spinner Mohammad Nawaz maintained 80th place with 407 points.
Abrar Ahmed Holds Second Spot
Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan retained the number one position in the ICC ODI bowling rankings with 682 rating points.
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed continued to occupy second place with 675 points, keeping close pressure on Rashid at the top.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer climbed to third place, replacing South African spinner Keshav Maharaj in the top three.

Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr all improved their positions. At the same time, Abrar Ahmed continued to establish himself among the world’s elite bowlers by holding second place.
