Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for drone attacks targeting key Saudi Arabian facilities, including Dammam Airport and an early-warning radar installation in Jizan.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group launched two drones towards King Fahd International Airport in Dammam over a 48-hour period. He claimed the operation disrupted airport traffic.
Additionally, Saree said another drone targeted an early-warning radar facility in the southwestern city of Jizan, reportedly scoring a direct hit. The group also claimed to have targeted a military transport aircraft at Jizan Airport.
However, Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the reported attacks or provided details about possible damage and casualties.
The claims come amid escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-aligned Houthi movement, raising concerns about regional security and aviation operations.
Meanwhile, Saudi air defence forces have reportedly intercepted other incoming threats targeting the kingdom.
The latest developments highlight growing security challenges for Saudi Arabia as regional military confrontations continue.
