Honor has launched the Magic9 Pro Max, its latest flagship smartphone, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and advanced camera features.
The phone features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1320 × 2868-pixel resolution and a variable refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz.
The display can reach 2,000 nits of global peak brightness and up to 10,000 nits locally during HDR video playback. Honor has also introduced an updated NanoCrystal Shield with additional silicon nitride layers and an anti-reflective coating.
Magic9 Pro Max Brings Advanced Cameras
The smartphone features a 200MP main camera with a 23mm-equivalent lens, a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. It is paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offering a 3.7x optical zoom.
The telephoto camera uses an 85mm-equivalent lens and a 1/1.4-inch sensor. A 50MP ultrawide camera with a 12mm-equivalent focal length completes the rear setup.
Honor has expanded its partnership with German camera company ARRI for the device. All three cameras support ARRI color profiles, cinematic filters, 10-bit recording, ARRI LogC3 Curve and ARRI Wide Gamut 3.
The phone also supports an optional teleconverter kit featuring a 500mm lens attachment. A SmallRig camera cage is available for users who want to attach accessories such as microphones, grips and LED lights.
Large Battery And Flagship Hardware
The Magic9 Pro Max runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17 and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The smartphone packs an 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. It also carries an IP69K rating and comes in Shadow Black, Glacier Silver and Moss Green.
Pricing in China starts at around $968 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 16GB RAM and 1TB model costs approximately $1,266, while international pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
