ISLAMABAD: Many Hindu extremists have set on fire shops and homes of Muslims in Karauli city of the Indian state of Rajasthan.
The anti-Muslim violence broke out following Hindu extremist groups started a bike rally to celebrate the start of new Hindu year in a Muslim-dominated locality in Karauli and they shouted provocative slogans and played Hindutva songs inciting violence against Muslims.
Extremist Hindus also pelted stones on the houses in the locality, later burning the shops and vehicles of the residents to the ground. About 35 people have been injured in these incidents, police said.

The authorities have declared curfew in the area from 6:30pm on April 2 to 12am on April 4 and suspended the internet service.
Security officials also arrested 46 people and seven others were taken into custody for interrogation following violence against Muslims in the area.
