The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced scholarship opportunities under the Seoul National University President Fellowship Program. The fellowship targets Pakistani faculty members seeking doctoral studies in South Korea. Meanwhile, applications for the Spring 2027 intake will remain open from July 6 to July 9, 2026.
Fellowship Targets Faculty Without PhD Degrees
According to the announcement, Seoul National University offers the fellowship, while the HEC is only publicising the opportunity. The scholarship is intended for university teaching and instructional staff from developing countries who do not already hold a PhD degree.
Applicants must be serving as faculty members at universities or higher education institutions in Pakistan. Additionally, they must hold at least a master’s degree from an accredited institution. Candidates are also required to apply for admission to a PhD program at Seoul National University for the Spring 2027 semester.
Eligible applicants include professors, associate professors, assistant professors, lecturers, instructors, research professors, teaching assistants, and research assistants. Furthermore, candidates in similar academic roles may qualify by providing proof of teaching or research responsibilities.
Scholarship Covers Tuition and Living Expenses
Selected candidates may receive full tuition support for six semesters. In addition, the fellowship offers a monthly stipend ranging from KRW 1.5 million to KRW 2 million for three to four years.
The scholarship also includes round-trip economy airfare, Korean language training, national health insurance, and childcare support where applicable.
Applicants must submit their online applications through the Seoul National University Office of Admissions during the admission period. Moreover, they should select the scholarship option while completing the admission application and ensure all required documents are submitted before the deadline.
