Applications Open for Top 200 Global Universities
ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced overseas scholarships for Pakistani and AJK nationals pursuing MS, MPhil and PhD degrees.
The scholarships fall under Phase-III, Batch-IV of the Overseas Scholarships programme. Successful candidates will study at universities ranked among the top 200 in QS or Times Higher Education rankings.
Applicants must submit online applications by August 28, 2026, at 4pm. The programme covers several priority fields, including technology, energy, agriculture, health, engineering and social sciences.
PhD applicants must normally hold 18 years of education. They need at least a 3.0 CGPA or first division in their MS, MPhil or equivalent degree.
PhD candidates can be up to 35 years old. However, the age limit rises to 40 years for employees of public-sector institutions and government organisations.
MS and MPhil Eligibility Criteria
MS applicants must have completed 16 years of education in a relevant discipline. They also need a minimum 3.0 CGPA or first division.
The age limit stands at 30 years for general applicants. Meanwhile, eligible government and public-sector employees can apply up to age 35.
Selection will depend on HEC Aptitude Test scores, interviews and applicable provincial quotas. Applicants must also indicate preferred universities or countries.
Candidates should apply through the HEC e-Services Portal and pay a Rs3,000 processing fee through 1LINK.
HEC will contact shortlisted candidates for further documentation and subsequent selection procedures.
