SWAT/ISLAMABAD: Growing political intolerance and frustration among people in Pakistan can be imagine well from the gruesome murder of a brother while second brother sustained serious bullet injuries on Swat Motorway.
Both the victims of political intolerance are brothers _ Rahimuddin and Waqasuddin and they have been tortured in a brute manner as if they were not passengers, but enemies to the killers.
Unknown passengers shot dead Rahimuddin and injured his brother Waqasuddin seriously. The tragic incident occurred on Swat Motorway near Katlang Interchange in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday.
The bus in which two brothers _ Rahimuddin and Waqasuddin were traveling was on its way to Taimargirah.
During their journey, both the brothers got engaged in a heated political debate with other passengers while bus was moving towards its destination. Nonetheless, none of the debating parties showed patience for one another’s political stance which first led to a verbal clash and ended in a merciless murder on Swat Motorway.
The political arguments took an ugly turn when some unidentified passengers first developed a brawl with Waqasuddin and Rahimuddin and then they called their relatives on Swat Motorway to teach a lesson to their political rivals. The unknown passengers forcibly stopped the bus near Katlang Interchange.
Then the as-yet unidentified passengers forcibly pulled down both the brothers Rahimuddin and Waqasuddin from the bus and started beating them with sticks in front of passengers, who were sitting in the bus.
The one-sided fight did not stop here and suddenly one of the attackers pulled out a weapon and fired multiple bullets on Rahimuddin and Waqasuddin. And all this happened on Swat Motorway near Katlang Interchange and no one sitting in the bus dared to intervene when both the brothers were being tortured on the Motorway. Consequently, this unnecessary fight finally turned into a gory incident, leading to a casualty on the spot while injuries to another.
The injured victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The police said that they have impounded the passenger bus and registered a case against unidentified suspects. Police, nonetheless, did not disclose the political affiliation of the victims and the killers.
Why did the bus driver and passengers not informed the Motorway Police on time to avoid this tragedy? This seems to be very perturbing question.
