Temperatures have risen across Pakistan as a heatwave spreads through the plains of Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to weather updates reported on Wednesday. The Met Office warned that conditions are likely to intensify in the coming days.
In Lahore, hot weather prevailed from early morning. Moreover, meteorological officials forecast that the maximum temperature will reach 41ยฐC, while the minimum settled at 28ยฐC. Humidity levels remained at 52 percent, and light winds blew at nine kilometers per hour, offering only slight relief.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, temperatures also continued to rise steadily. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 34ยฐC, while the minimum was recorded at 25ยฐC. In addition, humidity levels remained high at 77 percent, with south-westerly winds blowing at 11 kilometers per hour, contributing to muggy conditions.
Similarly, in Islamabad, temperatures have started to climb. The Met Office forecast a high of 36ยฐC, warning that further increases are expected over the next few days. Consequently, residents may experience increasingly warm conditions across the federal capital.
Furthermore, similar weather patterns have been observed in the plains of KP and low-altitude areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. However, Azad Jammu and Kashmir experienced partly cloudy skies, with forecasts indicating possible rainfall in upper regions.
Overall, meteorological authorities continue to monitor rising temperatures as seasonal heat builds across the country, affecting both urban and rural areas.
