A 42-year-old British citizen’s life was saved by his smartwatch after he experienced a heart attack, as per reports from foreign media. Paul Wapham, who had gone for his routine morning jog, felt severe chest pain and collapsed just 5 minutes away from his home.
In a critical moment, he managed to contact his wife using his smartwatch. Upon receiving the distress call, his wife hurried to the location and transported him to the hospital. Medical examinations revealed that Paul Wapham suffered a cardiac arrest due to a complete blockage of an artery in his heart.
After spending six days in the hospital, Paul Wapham has fully recovered and has returned home, thanks to the timely intervention facilitated by the smartwatch.
It’s worth noting that smartwatches have been instrumental in saving lives in various instances. The inclusion of sensors such as heart rate monitors and ECG sensors has enabled these devices to provide users with early warnings about their health, ultimately proving crucial in emergencies.
