KARACHI: The education department of Sindh has officially lifted the ban on teachers’ recruitment in the province. The department has requested information on candidates who have passed the recruitment test.
With the ban lifted, the Sindh government plans to hire primary and junior teachers for schools throughout the province.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved the removal of the recruitment ban in government departments after receiving input from cabinet members.
The cabinet members informed CM Murad Ali Shah about the numerous vacant positions in lower grades across government departments. They emphasized that lifting the recruitment ban would not only enhance departmental operations but also provide employment opportunities for the youth.
CM Murad Ali Shah, along with the cabinet’s support, sanctioned the removal of the ban on recruitment in government departments.
He instructed Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and the Advocate General to pursue the case in court and overturn the stay order issued against recruitment.
Additionally, the Sindh government recently announced the creation of over 2,500 teaching positions for the fiscal year 2023-24 to strengthen the education sector.
CM Murad highlighted the government’s commitment to improving access to quality education, allocating a significant budget of Rs312.24 billion for the education sector in the provincial budget.
