KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Sind Healthcare Commission (SHCC) conducted effective actions on ‘Quacks’ in Larkana District.
Last week, the SHCC Anti Quackery task force, including members of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), and Deputy Commissioner’s office, and DHO Office Larkana, conducted Inspections and Enforcement actions on ‘quacks’ in Ratodero, Naudero, and Waris Dino Machi.
A quack is giving treatment to a patient on a roadside stall. SHCC anti-quackery took a stern action against illegal quacks in Larkana.
Actions were taken on illegal healthcare units where ‘quacks’ were identified and apprehended Under Section U/S 39(G&H) of SHCC Regulations 2017.
During the one-week operation, 10 illegal clinics were sealed, including clinics that were illegally de-sealed in violation of the SHCC Act 2013.
The authorities issues Warning Notices to nine to healthcare practitioners (HCPs), not abiding by SHCC Regulations.
Moreover, 11 HCPs were found to be in compliance with the law and were given clearance to continue their operations.
The Directorate of Anti Quackery of the SHCC has been successfully conducting the monthly ‘Anti-Quackery Drive’ in coordination with SSP Office and DC office in Larkana taking decisive actions to reduce and eradicate ‘quackery’ in the long run.
This has been a successful initiative in terms of improving the quality of healthcare in the area and also in creating awareness amongst the general public of the ‘hazards of quackery’, in abidance of Section 38 of SHCC Regulations.
More follow-up visits are expected in the coming weeks in Larkana District and across the Division, where further strict actions will be taken on repeat offenders, and urgent complaints about ‘Quackery’ will be logged in for timely resolution for the convenience of the general public.
