On Wednesday, the National Health Commission of China revealed that 1,062 new cases of COVID-19 had been recorded throughout the country.
Of these cases, 237 presented with symptoms, and 825 did not.
As a comparison, China reported 1,048 new cases the day before, including 242 symptomatic and 806 asymptomatic illnesses.
There were no additional fatalities, so the national death toll remained at 5,226.

Local government data from China’s capital Beijing indicates that there were 18 new symptomatic cases and zero asymptomatic instances as of today, compared to 10 symptomatic and six asymptomatic cases yesterday.
One symptomatic case and zero asymptomatic cases were reported in Shanghai, China’s financial capital, the day before.
