FAISLABAD: Health authorities in Faisalabad are investigating another suspected monkeypox case as confirmed infections in the district continue to rise. A woman has been shifted to an isolation ward after developing symptoms associated with the viral infection.
The latest suspected case has increased attention on the situation at Allied Hospital-I, where medical teams continue to monitor confirmed patients and suspected infections.
Woman Shifted to Isolation Ward
According to hospital sources, the suspected patient is a woman who lives on 204 Canal Road in Faisalabad. Medical staff moved her to the isolation ward after she developed symptoms that raised concerns about monkeypox.
The woman reportedly experienced fever along with rashes across different parts of her body. Doctors suspected monkeypox based on these symptoms and placed her under observation.
Further medical assessment will determine whether the woman has contracted the infection.
Faisalabad Monkeypox Cases Reach 17
The latest suspected case comes as the number of confirmed monkeypox patients in Faisalabad reaches 17.
Hospital sources said Allied Hospital-I has so far reported 17 confirmed cases. Medical teams continue to monitor patients while following isolation and infection-control measures.
Monkeypox, also known as mpox, can cause symptoms including fever and skin rashes. However, doctors require appropriate testing and clinical assessment to confirm an infection.
The emergence of another suspected case highlights the need for continued monitoring. Health officials will likely assess the woman’s condition and test results before confirming whether she has mpox.
