HBO has released the second official teaser trailer for its highly anticipated Harry Potter television series. The new trailer gives fans a closer look at Hogwarts, its students and several familiar locations from the wizarding world.
The reboot stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. The series will retell J.K. Rowling’s beloved wizarding story for a new television audience.
New Trailer Reveals Hogwarts And Quidditch
Unlike the first trailer released in March, the latest footage provides a more detailed look at Harry’s magical world. Students can be seen taking part in the Sorting Hat ceremony, while the trailer also reveals the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch.
Fans also get a glimpse of the Burrow and the Weasley family inside their warm and familiar kitchen. Meanwhile, Paapa Essiedu makes his first major appearance as Professor Severus Snape.
Star-Studded Cast Joins Harry Potter Reboot
Essiedu faced backlash after HBO announced his casting as Snape. Some fans and critics questioned the decision because Rowling’s books describe Snape as “sallow-skinned.”
The series also features Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. John Lithgow will portray Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts.
The first season will focus on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. HBO plans to release the series on December 25, bringing the magical story back to screens for a new generation of viewers.
