Two Coaches Damaged at Galaywal Station
The Hazara Express derailed at Galaywal Railway Station near Lodhran early Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 2:00 am. Two coaches were damaged after the train entered a loop line and struck a sand barrier.
Initial reports said the engine’s brakes failed before the derailment. No deaths or serious injuries were reported.
Railway Officials Launch Emergency Response
Station Master Gulzar Hussain and senior railway officials reached the accident site soon after receiving the alert.
Railway teams inspected the damaged coaches and track. An alternative engine was arranged to continue the journey.
The Hazara Express later departed for its destination after the affected section was cleared.
Recent Derailments Raise Safety Concerns
The accident came weeks after 17 freight train wagons derailed near Wahab Shah Railway Station in Matiari district on July 19, 2026.
That incident suspended train services on both railway tracks. Relief teams were deployed to remove the damaged wagons and repair broken sections.
Railway officials said derailments can cause major track damage and lengthy service disruptions.
