Social media commentator’s husband challenges allegations during podcast appearance
KARACHI: Haris Khokhar, the husband of social media commentator Dr Nabiha Ali Khan, has publicly denied allegations of domestic violence made against him, describing the claims as false while challenging his wife to substantiate them.
Speaking during a recent podcast, Haris rejected reports circulating on social media suggesting that he and Dr Nabiha had reconciled following their marital dispute.
“There has been no reconciliation,” he said, adding that the reports were inaccurate and had no factual basis.
Addressing the allegations made by Dr Nabiha, Haris claimed that she made the statements while emotionally distressed. He further alleged that the overwhelming majority of her claims were untrue and insisted that none could be proven.
Rs5 million challenge issued
During the interview, Haris publicly challenged Dr Nabiha to provide evidence supporting her allegations.
He said that if she could prove even one of the claims she had made against him, he would pay her Rs5 million.
Haris also discussed the possibility of resolving the dispute through mediation, stating that mutual respect would be necessary if both parties ever considered rebuilding their relationship.
He went on to express his personal views on marriage, saying that a husband should receive the highest level of respect from his wife. He also referred to the traditional expression majazi Khuda, describing it as a metaphorical role of guardianship within marriage.
Dispute continues in public
The dispute between the couple has attracted considerable attention on social media, with both Haris Khokhar and Dr Nabiha Ali Khan presenting differing accounts of the circumstances surrounding their marriage and separation.
