Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has praised his former partner Hania Aamir’s debut song Pablo, describing the track as a “banger” and applauding her artistic expression.
Speaking in a recent interview, Azhar said he was excited to see Aamir explore music while praising the confidence behind her debut.
“She’s an amazing artist and I relate to her with the expressiveness and I’m so excited to see this side of her as an artist.”

Azhar also urged Pakistani listeners to approach music as a form of expression rather than judging artists too harshly.
He acknowledged that Aamir is primarily known as an actress but said her decision to write and perform a song should be viewed as another form of creativity.
“Yeah, she’s an actress, but she dropped this song [too]. For me, I conceived [sic] it as, ‘Okay, nice.’ She’s an artist. She’s she’s writing. She’s writing her feelings. She’s expressing how she feels.”
The singer particularly praised Aamir’s songwriting, noting how she addressed several controversies through the lyrics.
“I think each and every line addresses a major controversy in just in one-liners. I think that’s very smart.”

Azhar also expressed his hope for more women to enter Pakistan’s pop music scene.
“I think there’s so much potential and this is just the beginning… I feel like Hania Aamir dropping ‘Pablo’ is going to give inspiration to so many more girls in Pakistan, in South Asia [and] in the world, even maybe.”
Released on September 9, Pablo is a vibrant Punjabi track written and performed by Aamir. The song addresses her critics, while Indian reality star Rakhi Sawant also appears with a message encouraging Aamir to face her haters confidently.
Despite their complicated past, Azhar’s comments show his appreciation for Aamir’s latest creative venture.
