Pakistani Pilgrims to Benefit from “Road to Makkah” Initiative at Karachi, Islamabad Airports

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani pilgrims departing from Karachi and Islamabad for Hajj this year will again benefit from the “Road to Makkah” initiative, which streamlines immigration procedures before departure.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has instructed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to ensure all necessary arrangements for Hajj operations at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and Islamabad International Airport.

According to a letter from the Royal Saudi Embassy to the ministry, immigration services will be provided at these airports, allowing pilgrims to complete their immigration formalities in Pakistan rather than upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

To facilitate the initiative, the CAA has been directed to allocate designated space for Saudi immigration staff and provide the required facilities. As a result, pilgrims traveling from Islamabad and Karachi will bypass immigration upon landing in Jeddah or Madinah, making their journey more seamless.

The Road to Makkah project is designed to enhance convenience for Pakistani pilgrims by reducing wait times and ensuring a smoother immigration process before departure.
