Ken Urker, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s former fiancé and the father of her daughter, has died at the age of 33.
The Lafourche Sheriff’s Office said authorities found Urker dead upon arrival at his Louisiana home on Thursday, October 1. The day also marked his birthday, while sources said Blanchard had sent him a birthday message that went unanswered.
Urker’s brother Dylan and his wife later found him after arriving at the home to pick him up for dinner. Meanwhile, law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Urker’s Relationship With Blanchard
Urker first connected with Blanchard as a pen pal in 2017, after he wrote to her following her conviction in the 2015 killing of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
The pair became engaged in 2018 while Blanchard remained in prison. However, they ended their relationship the following year, with Urker later saying outside opinions and influences contributed to their breakup.
Blanchard later married Ryan Anderson during a prison ceremony, but the couple eventually divorced. She then reconnected with Urker, and their relationship eventually developed into a family life.
Couple Welcomed Daughter In 2024
In July 2024, Blanchard and Urker announced they were expecting their first child together. Blanchard described the pregnancy as unexpected but said both were excited to begin parenthood.
Their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, was born in December 2024. Urker’s sister, Autumn, later addressed his death publicly on TikTok after authorities confirmed it.
Blanchard was released on parole in December 2023 after serving time for her role in her mother’s killing. She had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 10-year prison sentence.
