The government will supervise private Hajj bookings under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Consequently, Pakistan will introduce a new system for managing private Hajj operations.
For the first time, both government and private Hajj schemes will operate under the ministry’s direct oversight. Moreover, authorities will process private bookings through the official Pak Hajj App.
The app will digitally monitor Hajj packages, agreements, and payments. Officials believe the system will improve transparency and strengthen oversight of private operators.
Digital System To Improve Transparency
According to sources, the new framework follows Saudi Arabia’s Nusuk Masar system. Furthermore, the ministry plans to introduce a one-window mechanism for agreements and payments.
Officials expect the new process to reduce fraud and simplify Hajj arrangements. Under the revised system, 25 private Hajj companies will operate under ministry supervision.
Pilgrims will also choose their preferred Hajj company through the Pak Hajj App. Therefore, applicants will have greater access to approved packages under one digital platform.
HBL To Handle Hajj 2027 Applications
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has also revised the Hajj 2027 application process. Applicants under both schemes will submit applications and payments only through Habib Bank Limited.
Previously, pilgrims used 16 different banks for Hajj applications. Meanwhile, the ministry and HBL are expected to sign a formal agreement in the coming days.
