The government has extended the deadline for completing biometric verification required for Saudi Hajj visas, offering relief to intending pilgrims. The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that pilgrims now have until February 17 to complete the mandatory process.
Officials stated that biometric verification remains a compulsory requirement for obtaining a Hajj visa. No visa will be issued without successful completion of this step. The extension aims to facilitate pilgrims who faced logistical or technical delays.
Pilgrims can complete biometric verification through a designated mobile application from their homes. In addition, Saudi Tasheer Centres are operational in six major cities across Pakistan. Pilgrims visiting these centres must retain their receipt or confirmation email for future reference.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has already begun issuing Hajj visas globally from February 8. This early rollout reflects an accelerated schedule designed to improve service preparedness and pilgrim comfort well ahead of the rituals. The initiative aligns with Saudi Arabiaโs Vision 2030 framework.
So far, around 750,000 pilgrims have registered worldwide. Packages for approximately 30,000 pilgrims have been booked directly from their home countries. Authorities have also allocated nearly 485 camps at the holy sites for international pilgrims. In addition, 73 Hajj affairs offices have completed their basic contractual requirements.
In Pakistan, Hajj registration has been completed for 119,000 government pilgrims and 60,000 private pilgrims. Officials confirmed that preparations are progressing according to the Saudi timeline. Arrangements for food, transport, and essential services have been finalised through a competitive and transparent process.
Authorities highlighted improvements made during the previous Hajj season. During Hajj 2025, refunds totaling Rs3.5 billion were returned to 75 percent of Pakistani pilgrims. Individual refunds ranged from Rs12,000 to Rs110,000, reflecting cost efficiencies and improved service management.
Training programs for pilgrims are also underway nationwide. Sessions equipped with audio-visual facilities are being conducted at 147 locations. Officials reported that well-trained pilgrims demonstrated discipline and adherence to guidelines during the last Hajj.
The extension of the biometric deadline is expected to ease pressure on pilgrims while ensuring compliance with Saudi visa requirements. Authorities have urged pilgrims to complete verification promptly to avoid last-minute complications and ensure smooth travel arrangements.
